Play Omaha Poker Rules

Here is another variant to play poker for you to enjoy. To play Omaha poker is to experience one more community card game, similar to Texas poker. However, to play Omaha poker is in some points different from the way you play Texas poker, and here are some basic differences. First of all when you play Omaha poker, each player is dealt four cards to the hand of his own instead of two. But the betting round and the community cards layout when you play Omaha poker is identical to the one which is used when you play Texas poker.

The objective of each player poker of to make the best five-card hand from only three cards of the community layout and only two cards of his private hand. Unlike Texas poker, when you play Omaha poker, you are not allowed to play more then three cards from the board, nor can you use three or four hole cards to disguise a strong hand.

Some other points which are different when you play Omaha poker are like these: you always need to have two cards of the suit to play a flush, unlike Texas poker; you can’t play full house with only single matching card in your hand if two pairs are in the board; to make full house the player needs to have a pair in his hand providing there are three of a kind in the community layout.

If you choose to play Omaha poker, it is also worth knowing that there are pot-limit and no-limit Omaha poker options. Those are played both in casinos and online. However no0limit Omaha is rare.

Try to play Omaha poker and feel that it is a game of “the nuts”, as they call it, because it often takes “the nuts” to win a showdown.
